Role Overview

The 2nd Shift Production Operator at Cardinal Health's LaVergne, TN Pack facility is an entry-level role ideal for motivated individuals seeking stable manufacturing work in the healthcare sector. This position operates light-duty bench- or floor-type machine tools and automation equipment, performing manual operational tasks under close supervision. You'll contribute to cost-effective production, quality assurance, employee safety, and process improvements.

Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 3:30pm to 2:00am, with overtime as needed (may include Fridays and Saturdays). Anticipated hourly pay: $19.10 - $22.60 based on experience, including shift differential. This full-time role offers a pathway into Cardinal Health's dynamic manufacturing environment, with opportunities to grow skills in healthcare production.

Key Responsibilities

As a Production Operator, you'll play a vital role in our streamlined operations:

• Participate in packaging finished products prior to shipment, ensuring accuracy and quality.
• Load machines with raw materials and transport materials between machines to keep production flowing.
• Troubleshoot basic machine issues to maintain schedules and minimize downtime.
• Create and modify labels or stickers applied to products or packaging for compliance and traceability.
• Check work using gauges, jigs, and fixtures to meet close tolerances and verify quality per statistical process controls.

Work follows clearly defined standard operating procedures, with routine output reviewed by supervisors. You'll escalate complex problems while resolving minor ones independently.

Qualifications & Requirements

This entry-level position welcomes candidates with:

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent (preferred).
• 1-2 years of manufacturing, production, or related experience (preferred).
• Ability to apply knowledge to standard tasks and learn new methods quickly.
• Adherence to quality guidelines, safety protocols, and SOPs.
• Comfort working under moderate supervision on routine assignments requiring some problem-solving.

No advanced certifications required, but maintaining appropriate training is expected. Reliable transportation for 2nd shift is essential.
