This specific role will support optical films, adhesives, materials, and novel combinations in Display and Electronics Product Platform through New Product Introduction (NPI) projects and providing support on Change Managed (CMP) projects through appropriate risk analysis (FMEA) and addressing key risks.As an Advanced Quality Engineer you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:Respond to customers as needed (product development and customer specifications, complaints and CAPA, key account management including customer agreements, data analysis, etc.)Lead continual quality improvement projects to improve quality and reduce Defective Parts per Million (DPPM)Lead quality tool usage within project teamsManage customer complaints in 3M Customer Issue Resolution (CIR) system within product responsibility areaDevelop test methods: documentation, training, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), round robinsDevelop visual reference standards, visual test methods, and align visual detection systemsProduct qualification planning, testing, and analysisLead the development of Quality Functional Deployment (QFD), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), Control PlansDocument and improve the Quality Management SystemYour Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:Bachelor's degree or higher in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics discipline (completed and verified prior to start)One (1) year of experience working or interning in a Quality Engineering, Product Engineering and/or Manufacturing environment in a private, public, government or military environmentAdditional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:Experience working with automated inspection systemsBachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Statistics or related discipline from an accredited institutionMinimum 3-years of Quality Engineering and/or Product EngineeringExperience in ManufacturingExperience leading cross-functional teams and/or projectsLean Six Sigma training with proven ability to understand and apply Lean Six Sigma and other quality tools to product, systems and process problemsWorking knowledge of International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001 standardsTest method development experienceWork location: Work location: This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN.Travel: May include up to 25% domestic/internationalRelocation: May be authorizedMust be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).Supporting Your Well-being 3M offers many programs to help you live your best life – both physically and financially.
