The successful candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and excel in collaborating with others in the laboratory to revolutionize standard manual processes and invent new, automated solutions for our industry.Here, you will make an impact by:Playing a key role in customer interaction & specifying 3M Automotive Automated solutions at OEM’s & TiersLeading the way on application development including responsibilities for ideation, documentation, feasibility analysis, and validationPlays crucial role in defining standard processes and tools to accelerate implementation of physical automation solutionsCollaborating with and guide multiple teams to ensure the success of application implementation, including marketing, external industry partners, and customersProviding application support and training to customers, including in-person visitsGaining a complete understanding of the application effectiveness by leading field trials and internal testing along with analyzing and presenting findingsStriving to remain ahead of pending changes to industry standards, regulations, and best practices.Developing and testing automation solutions leveraging technologies such as robotics, computer vision, machine learning and other industrial automation and software technologies.Facilitating complex problem-solving, collaborating across functional groups, and leading development efforts for new customer solutions.Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:Bachelor or Master’s degree in MECHATRONICS including FBD, Ladder Logic Sequential Function chart, Perl Shells Scripting. (completed and verified prior to start)3-5 years of experience providing technical support to customers in technical and/or application engineering role in a private, public, government, or military environmentData driven / tech savvy.Proven experience in presenting himself/company in external conferences/EventsDemonstrate lab to field /scale up experience for multiple products in his tenureTo provide Design Engineering in the development of various programsTo support prototyping and sampling till scale-up of new programsTo provide in-plant application training support to CustomersTo obtain prototype approvals and tooled up Sample approvals during Program Development from CustomersTrain sales & marketing team on various products and their applicationsTo evaluate and audit performance of products as per Customer Specific RequirementsTo provide, generate and maintain TS16949 / QMS documentationTo provide a timely and optimally elaborate response and corrective action plan to Customer ComplaintsTo continuously pursue 3M Six-Sigma methodology in various work practicesBachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering, systems engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or other engineering field (completed and verified prior to start)Learn more about 3M’s creative solutions to the world’s problems at www.3M.com or on Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn @3M.Safety is a core value at 3M.
