Here, you will make an impact by:Optimizing products by driving Product and Process Understanding (PPU) efforts, leading strategic raw material substitution projects and supporting cost reduction projectsEnsuring consistent product performance and stability of existing products, by leading product improvement projects, as neededMaintaining product standards and specifications, owning claims re-substantiation processLeading/supporting change management process and validating product performance for changes in formulation, process or raw materialsDriving scale-up activities as a core team member for new product introductionsDeveloping and implementing product control plansCollaborating with cross functional teams (product development, application engineering, business, manufacturing and quality teams), global laboratories and manufacturing sitesUtilizing strong communication skills to inspire, influence, motivate and teach other team membersYour Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:Bachelor’s degree or higher in science or engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start)6 months of manufacturing and/or process or product engineering experience (Internship and/or co-op experience is considered qualifying) in a private, public, government or military environmentCurrent, valid Driver’s LicenseAdditional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:Master's degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited institutionTwo (2) combined years experience gathering product information and/ or, setting specifications, and/or developing test methods and/or translating to product requirements in a private, public, government or military environmentExperience working in Quality and/or Manufacturing/Production and/or Product Development and/ or Engineering in a private, public, government or military environmentExperience with scaling up technology and/or products to large scale manufacturingPrioritization Skills: Strong ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that critical deadlines are met without compromising quality.Experience with Lean Six Sigma, Design of Experiments (DOE), and Statistical AnalysisAbility to navigate through ambiguity and changeWork location: Maplewood, MN Work location: This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN.Travel: May include up to 30% domesticRelocation Assistance: Is not authorizedMust be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).Supporting Your Well-being 3M offers many programs to help you live your best life – both physically and financially.
