This employee will be responsible for driving Safety, Quality, Service, Cost and Employee Engagement improvements.As a Production Supervisor, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:Provide direct supervision to union employeesEnsure a safe working environment through modeling safe behaviors, leading audits / inspections, correcting unsafe behaviors, conducting crew meetings, and utilizing proper work methods, procedures and equipmentInspire integrity by upholding and complying with 3M policies and guidelinesProvide leadership for assigned operations by fostering cross-functional teamwork and communicating goals of the organization to employeesComplete administrative activities such as time / absence reporting, attendance control, vacation planning, overtime, and etc.Plan daily work schedules, allocate work assignments, and regulate production processes in order to meet specific daily production requirementsProvide necessary coaching, feedback and disciplinary action to assigned production groupDrive continuous improvement by leading Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma projectsProvide basic troubleshooting of equipment and quality issuesThis position may include working weekend shifts and extended hoursYour Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:High School Diploma/GED or higher (Completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institutionFive (5) years of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environmentAdditional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:Five (5) combined years of supervisory and/or leadership experienceBachelor’s degree or higher in engineering from an accredited universityMicrosoft Office proficiencyAbility to create, lead, and work in a team atmosphereAbility to drive and influence positive changeExperience with Process Safety Management (PSM) covered processesEffective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skillsSelf-starter with demonstrated ability to work in teams and individually to achieve resultsWork Location: Hartford City, INTravel: May include up to 10% domestic or international travelRelocation: Is not authorized Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).Supporting Your Well-being 3M offers many programs to help you live your best life – both physically and financially.
