Here, you will make an impact by:Providing analytical chemistry technology research and problem-solving for 3M corporate research laboratories and divisionsDeveloping NMR test methods for characterization of 3M materials and productsDesigning NMR experiments, conducting analytical measurements, analyzing data, and writing technical reports to document and communicate resultsCollaborating with 3M corporate research laboratories and the greater 3M technical community on new technology and new product developmentFor additional information, please visit: https://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/company-us/about-3m/research-development/Your Skills and ExpertiseTo set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:PhD degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start)Two (2) years of material characterization experience using NMR in a private, public, academic, government, or military environmentAdditional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:PhD degree or higher in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry or related discipline from an accredited institutionDemonstrated skills in designing NMR experiments and interpreting NMR dataExperience in maintenance of NMR spectrometers including cryogen handlingProven track-record of publications in peer-reviewed scientific journalsStrong communication, problem-solving, networking, and leadership skillsExperience with analytical data science and automation, including Python programming, SQL databases, GUI development and Cloud applications.Work Location: On site in Maplewood MNTravel: May include up to 5% domestic/internationalRelocation Assistance: May be authorizedMust be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).Supporting Your Well-being 3M offers many programs to help you live your best life – both physically and financially.
