Job Description

As a centralized team, the Creative Audio Organization touches nearly every product Meta produces. We're now seeking an experienced Design Program Manager to join our Family of Apps team, who will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of audio across Meta's Family of Apps (Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, Messenger, Threads and MetaAI). You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product design, branding and engineering, to design innovative audio experiences that span multiple devices, such as smartphones, smart glasses, VR headsets, and AR/MR experiences. As part of our team, you will work alongside a team of Interaction Sound Designers who are responsible for helping build brand recognition, and enhance the overall brand experiences across all of our products. In this role, you will have a unique opportunity to collaborate with product and creative teams across Meta to drive sonic innovation and create meaningful experiences that meaningfully impact the norms and connect people in new ways.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in program or project management (experience)
  • Experience handling complexity and navigating ambiguity with teams on large scale 0 to 1 projects from concept to execution (experience)
  • Experience consistently working under your own initiative, seeking feedback and input where appropriate (experience)
  • Experience working directly with either sound designers, technical sound designers, and/or prototypers (experience)
  • Experience managing time-critical projects through to completion while balancing evolving priorities and a broad range of stakeholders (experience)
  • Experience managing vendors and contractors (experience)
  • Experience using data to identify problems and communicate solutions (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Identify and drive large, program-level product initiatives forward that have multiple stakeholders, competing deadlines, multiple dependencies and many moving parts
  • Prioritize, assess tradeoffs, propose clear solutions and communicate strategically
  • Identify, define and manage multi-team strategic initiatives that drive efficiency and impact, often contributing best practices to the discipline
  • Advocate for design-driven solutions and apply design thinking to programs and operations
  • Own and facilitate meetings to drive progress against goals and objectives and establish clear next steps and owners, while resolving blocks that impede progress
  • Proactively assess risk, raise flags and resolve issues before they become problems for larger teams
  • Sought out as the operations subject-matter expert to the product team and trusted leader across the company, collaborating and sharing in-depth knowledge with team members
  • Communicate persuasively to the right audience to get buy-in and feedback
  • Proactively problem solve and distribute information effectively
  • Define and measure impact of programs and initiatives both qualitatively and quantitatively, continually refining and iterating to ensure usage and adoption
  • Scale internal organization programs and initiatives when necessary and delegate effectively with clear expectations
  • Source and manage operational budgets, vendor relationships and contracts
