We are looking for a Senior Director of Global Data Center Engineering Strategy to help build future generations of the network that powers the world’s largest online services. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of Microsoft’s data center designs and strategies. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in data center design, construction, and operations, along with a proven ability to turn strategic vision into actionable outcomes. Responsibilities include developing strategic vision for data center infrastructure that prioritize safety-in-design, availability, scalability, fungibility, and cost efficiency. The individual will collaborate closely with upstream stakeholders and partner teams to refine design requirements and lead the CO+I Building Information Modeling (BIM) and LEED programs, driving innovative solutions that align with Microsoft’s sustainability goals. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience. (degree)
Accredited Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Architecture. (degree)
Registered Professional Engineer or Architect. (degree)
Comprehensive technical understanding of mission critical environments. (degree)
Experience successfully leading teams of subject matter experts, engineers and architects in advanced engineering and operational processes and procedures as they relate to large data center environments. (degree)
8+ years’ experience in mission critical projects (data centers, laboratories and/or micro-electronics projects or similar). (degree)
Ability to travel domestically and internationally. (degree)
Experience using MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio, and Excel for the development and effective reporting/presentations of project information. (degree)
