At Meta Reality Labs, we are developing the future of Wearables and Mixed Reality products. As a Display Calibration Engineer in our AR organization, you will develop and validate techniques for display optical tests and calibration, critical to delivering optimal visual quality across multiple upcoming display products. This role spans the entire cycle of prototype-to-production calibration algorithm development, including modeling and prototyping. As such, you will collaborate closely with the system, perception, test, software/firmware and calibration leads to validate, refine, and deploy these methodologies for production.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field (degree)
6+ years of work experience with displays, optics or equivalent work experience (experience, 6 years)
Experience with display calibration methods and tools, deploying methods for high-volume products (experience)
Experience in radiometry/photometry, physical optics and familiarity with conventional imaging systems (experience)
Experience with Python, MATLAB, C++ or similar programming languages (experience)
Experience with standard image quality metrics (experience)
Experience communicating to technical and non-technical stakeholders (experience)
Preferred Qualifications
Masters or PhD degree in optics, electrical engineering, computational imaging, a related field (degree)
Experience with prototype builds and testing (experience)

Responsibilities
Develop and refine display calibration methodologies to achieve display requirements, evaluating and communicating algorithm workflow requirements to cross functional stakeholders
Analyze simulation, and measurement-based data, to identify key display quality issues and develop optimal correction methods, evaluating tradeoffs
Partner with hardware teams on modeling-based development
Partner with prototyping teams on algorithm validation
Troubleshoot hardware and software interactions to ensure robust and reliable calibration outcomes
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including optical, display, imaging, and metrology engineers, to improve the accuracy and reliability of the display calibration processes
Develop novel methods to improve factory throughput
