THE OPPORTUNITY 

This position is directly accountable to the Leadhand and indirectly accountable to the Manager, Western Region Distribution. The Warehouse Person is responsible for routine duties relating to the shipping, receiving, and warehousing of product. Inventory control, customer service and housekeeping are mandatory requirements of this position.This position combines responsibilities similar to an order picker role, with approximately 60% pallet picking and 40% case picking. The role requires operating a stand-up narrow aisle reach truck to efficiently handle materials in a warehouse environment.

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO 

Order Processing
•    Process customer orders including confirming of storage location, list number, list size, lot number and quantity prior to shipping;
•    Review customer or order notes for special shipping/order prep instructions;
•    When required, double check orders picked for order integrity, thus reducing the possibility of shipping errors;
•    Package orders in a manner that will reduce the possibility of damages;
•    Package temperature sensitive products in a manner that preserves product integrity;
•    Visually inspect orders for damages prior to shipping;
•    Accurately prepare all paperwork pertaining to the order;
•    Ensure accurate and timely ship confirmations in the Shipping system;
•    Ensure that orders are shipped in a timely fashion, paying particular attention to the scheduled ship date of the order.

Receiving
•    Inspect all incoming orders for order integrity by verifying list number, list size, quantity and Jot number;
•    Notify the shipping DC of any discrepancies or variances;
•    Notify the carrier of any damages in order to issue carrier claim reports;
•    Enter replenishment orders into Receiving system in a timely manner.  

Housekeeping/Maintenance
•    Complete daily housekeeping duties and inspections in order to ensure compliance with G.M.P. standards;
•    Conduct daily equipment inspections and complete weekly maintenance checklists.

General

•    Ensure that all safety requirements and regulations are adhered to;
•    Achieve designated productivity standards;
•    Actively participate in any training sessions;
•    Maintain positive relations with individuals from other Abbott locations/departments, such as Customer Service, other Abbott/3rd Party DC's, Inventory Planning, etc.;
•    Complete additional duties as assigned by the Leadhand or Manager, Western Region Distribution;
•    Complete SOP, GMP and QA procedure training as required;
•    Adhere to the processes and procedures relating to distribution-related KPls;
•    Challenge the status quo, thus seeking methods of continuous improvement.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS


•    High school degree (or equivalent);
•    1-3 years of warehousing experience;
•    Must be able to work well in a team environment;
•    Strong communication skills.
