Job Description

PurposeProvides technical direction to a complex and diverse manufacturing environment to maintain product availability, maintain and enhance regulatory compliance, and optimize productivity. Manages activities and resources to ensure complete engineering support is provided to meet manufacturing area needs. Coordinates manufacturing engineering department activities to ensure that facilities, equipment and processes required for new products are developed, qualified, validated and designed for efficient manufacturability. Provide support to Operations in terms of Equipment troubleshooting, improvement ideas assessment and implementation and events investigations. Supports the ABL Project Engineering Area in the identification of Manufacturing Areas Capital needs and the subsequent implementation and validation of projects. Serve as a liaison between Manufacturing and the Supporting Departments such as Maintenance, Validation, PCS, and Engineering.ResponsibilitiesThe Manufacturing Engineering Superintendent provides leadership for process engineering services support. Provide technical assistance and resolution for manufacturing equipment malfunctions, design and implementation of equipment changes and implementation of new equipment technology to improve Plant's efficiency which directly impacts the annual Plant and Division results.Implement Engineering solutions to improve Plant Safety, Quality and Financial Performance. Drives functional performance that ensures the highest standards in quality, customer service, and regulatory compliance are met.Propose and/or establish corrective and preventive actions as required. Justify, develop, coordinate and implement projects within the ABL Plant Operation.Supervise Manufacturing Engineers Identify and coordinate training as well as professional developmental needs for engineers and technical personnel, including production personnel, to maintain a well prepared technical workforce.Provide technical expertise (Subject Matter Expert) for the investigation of events related to equipment. Propose and/or establish corrective and preventive actions as required.Assure that Departmental Standard Operating Procedures and Process Descriptions are maintained updated and their content is in compliance with the proper regulatory agencies.Provide technical assistance to Manufacturing, Validation, Maintenance and Systems groups related to the manufacturing equipment. Assist in the execution of validation activities as they relate to the equipment.Lead the development, recommendation, and execution of improvements to the production processes and equipment, such as yield increase, downtime reduction, cycle time reduction, etc. to improve productivity and compliance.Supervise the evaluation and preparation of formal investigations of process excursions related to production equipment malfunctions. Establish sound and effective corrective actions to fix root cause of events.Provide support to Operations Department in terms Areas Re-instatements and Maintenance activities coordination. Responsible to support the Plant Calibration Program to keep it in Compliance with procedures and regulations requirements.Significant Work Activities;Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hr day) is requiredContinuous standing for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hr day) is requiredContinuous walking for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hr day) is requiredFrequent to continuous computer usage (greater or equal to 50% of the workday) is required
