Position Summary

The Accounting Analyst III role at Williams Companies in Houston, Texas, is a pivotal mid-level position within our finance team.   • Execute month-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, management reporting, SEC reporting, and variance analysis to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Develop and maintain detailed schedules, reports, and financial analyses for both internal decision-makers and external customers.
  • Provide comprehensive documentation and clear explanations during audit processes to facilitate smooth reviews and compliance.
  • Lead or participate in small-scale projects with minimal supervision, while mentoring and acting as a resource for less experienced colleagues.
  • Process and analyze significant volumes of financial data, identifying issues, trends, and transaction anomalies.
  • Prepare, review, and finalize FERC Form 3Q and Form 2 filings, including XBRL tagging, ensuring regulatory adherence.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to promote effective communication and optimize business processes through innovative solutions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to team and departmental goals.

Required Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related major with a strong accounting focus.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of progressive accounting experience, specifically in the energy industry.
  • Preferred: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.

Skills and Competencies

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with advanced Excel skills for data analysis.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial acumen to handle complex datasets.
