Job Description

AECOM Technical Services, Inc., is seeking a Civil Engineering III in Minneapolis, MN.

Job responsibilities:

  • Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
  • Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
  • Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
  • Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments. Identifies discrepancies in results.
  • Provides guidance and reviews work of entry level engineers.
  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
  • Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other disciplines for desired project outcome.

Qualifications

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field and 4 years of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation.

1. Ability to analyze plans, survey reports, maps, and other data related to project design

2. Prepare cost estimates for equipment, materials, and labor to determine a project’s economic feasibility

3. Use design software to plan transportation systems

4. Roadway/Highway Horizontal and Vertical Geometry Design

5. Roadway/Highway Corridor Modeling

6. Roadway/Highway Earthwork Calculations

7. Roadway/Highway Signing and Marking Design

8. Site Layout and Grading

9. Public Utility Design (Water and Wastewater)

10. ADA Accessibility Design

11. Stormwater Hydraulic Design

12. Plan Development

13. Understanding and Preparation of technical specifications

14. Minnesota Professional Engineer (PE) licensure, or ability to obtain within 6 months of starting in the position
