Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to be based in Buffalo, New York.

_This position is expected to begin in the Summer of 2026._

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Builds analytic and design skills.
  • Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Candidates must be currently enrolled in a university program pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Candidates must have completed two years of study in their program.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation products.

Additional Information

  • Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
  • Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $22 to $27.
