Job Description

The Program Management Division of AECOM is actively seeking an experienced Construction Field Inspector for employment in the San Antonio, TX office. This position provides the opportunity to work on large, unique, and complex projects in based in Texas and throughout the country.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Field inspection and oversight of construction projects as owner’s representative on military bases and facilities
  • Monitor and record the work and progress of contractors, while tracking materials and overseeing contractors.
  • Verify that safety measures are implemented and maintained during construction.
  • Maintain communication between AECOM supervisors and peers, may also be in direct communication with government customers.
  • May assist with training entry-level employees
  • Record keeping

Qualifications

Requirements

  • High School Diploma + 8 Years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Valid Driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4+ years construction inspection experience required; or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, skills, knowledge, abilities and experience
  • Basic understanding of construction principles and practices
  • Ability to document any and all relevant events, issues and variances
  • Good active written and verbal communication with construction personnel and engineers
  • Ability to perform basic computations and calculations
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications
  • Project dependent certifications are required or must be earned within 6 months of beginning employment.
  • Weekend and/or night work may be required
  • Must be willing to deploy where assigned

Additional Information

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $35.00/hour - $60.00/hour.
