Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivatedEngineering Internto be based in our Raleigh, North Carolina office. This position will support our Remediation team within our Environment business line.

_This position is expected to begin June 2026._

The Engineering Intern will support our Remediation team in both the field and office. We are seeking motivated candidate who would like to develop and advance in a full-time environmental remediation career. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, reliable and have good interpersonal communication skills.

Job Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:

  • Supports planning studies and reports for new and updated plans, programs and regulations.
  • Under direct supervision, conducts field investigations and assessments.
  • Assist with the field investigation preparation, including preparing project safety plans.
  • Assist with post-field data entry and report writing.
  • Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional.
  • Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study.
  • Intern III – completion of third year of qualified study.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program for Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related
  • Must have completed three (3) years of study in relevant degree program

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to travel and perform fieldwork as needed.
  • Collect and evaluate environmental data in field and office settings.
  • Experience carrying out fieldwork (water and soil sampling) is considered an asset.
  • Strong writing and presentation abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and familiarity with computer applications (e.g., word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation applications).

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $23 to $28.
