Job Description

AECOM is seeking an Entry Level Structural (Bridge) Enginee r to be based in Chicago, IL.

  • Perform analysis and design of transportation structures such as bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and sign structures under the supervision of experienced engineers.
  • Use computer programs to model and solve engineering problems.
  • Creates design calculations, sketches, plan details, and project reports meeting industry standards.
  • Visit job sites and inspect in-service structures.
  • Complete work assignments within budget and schedule.
  • Develop strong organizational, technical, and communication skills.
  • Build knowledge of transportation project development and delivery.
  • Maintain technical learning on the route to obtain professional licenses.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Proficient with MS Office suite programs Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD or MicroStation.
  • Knowledge of basic ACI, AISC, and ASCE design codes and specifications.
  • Previous internship experience
  • Passed FE exam
  • Master’s degree in structural engineering
  • Knowledge of AASHTO design specifications and DOT practice

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $70000 to $75000.
