Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator for immediate employment. This position can be based anywhere in the United States however, will require 100% travel to various client sites in Latham, NY, Albuquerque, NM, or Mechanicsburg, PA and others as required.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Environmental construction team setting
  • Operating heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. Heavy equipment may include trucks, front-end loaders, dozers, graders, rollers, compactors, excavators, scrapers, skid steers and other pieces of equipment
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or GED and 6+ years of industry experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • This position requires 100% travel.
  • High concern in adherence with safety procedures.
  • Valid US Driver’s License to operate an AECOM provided vehicle for travel to various project site(s) to support project task(s) assignments and scope of work. For positions with driving responsibilities, Motor Vehicle Records are reviewed as part of AECOM’s background check process to ensure compliance with the Company’s driving standards.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Physically able, with or without an accommodation, to work in outdoor environments with uneven terrain, variable outdoor conditions including dusts, noise, chemicals, and vibration.
  • Position requires frequent (more than 50% of workday) standing/walking, operation of vehicles, including heavy moving, or dangerous equipment, and working in an environment of heavy, moving, dangerous equipment; often (25-50% of workday) performing repetitive bending/stooping, repetitive or fine hand movements, and lifting of less than 25 pounds; occasionally (10—25% of workday) lifting of 25-50 pounds; rarely (less than 10% of workday) performing work with arms above shoulder level, power gripping/squeezing (hand tools, levers, etc.), working at heights, climbing stairs, using portable ladders, working in confined spaces, performing keyboard/mouse operations, and lifting of 50-75 pounds.
  • Position will include wearing all associated personal protective equipment as assigned, including but not limited to gloves, safety glasses/goggles, safety shoes/boots, hard hat, and hearing protection.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10+ years of industry experience.
  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training.
  • 8-hour Annual HAZWOPER Refresher training.
  • 10-hour OSHA Construction Outreach training.
  • Ability to travel to various sites across the US.
  • In site stabilization, MCP, dredging, construction oversight, PCB’s landfill capping and demolition

Additional Information

  • This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.
  • This position does not include relocation benefits.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $32.00/hour - $38.00/hour.
