Job Description

We’re looking for an Environmental Scientist to join our team and contribute to a variety of contaminated land and closed landfill projects across New Zealand. This is a fantastic opportunity to take the next step in your career, working alongside experienced professionals on diverse and technically challenging projects.

How you’ll make a difference

  • Plan, manage and deliver contaminated land investigations for projects of varying size and complexity.
  • Participate in fieldwork; manage subcontractors and ensure high-quality data collection and reporting.
  • Prepare technical reports and contribute to environmental assessments and remediation strategies.
  • Liaise directly with clients, providing timely updates and innovative, practical solutions.
  • Support project management tasks including invoicing, financial tracking, and overall project delivery.

The qualities that help you thrive

  • Bachelor’s or post graduate degree in environmental science, engineering, geology or earth science.
  • 2-5 years’ experience in contaminated land management, environmental site assessments (PSI/DSI) and/or remediation projects within a consultancy, council, or similar environment.
  • Hands-on field skills including sampling and monitoring soil, groundwater, surface water and sediment.
  • Experience using software programmes such as Excel, Arc-GIS and Pro-UCL.
  • A collaborative and proactive mindset, with a willingness to travel and work across a range of urban and rural locations throughout Aotearoa.
  • A valid full drivers’ license is essential.
