AECOM’s Enterprise Capabilities team is looking for a Rail Systems Engineer in SCADA for Traction power Supply system to join our team in Madrid.

Job Description

As Rail Systems Engineer in SCADA Power systems , you will contribute to define the SCADA system of the whole power supply system of a railway line project, including the MV power distribution, traction power supply system and sectioning of the OCS. Between some other tasks, you will be required to:

Here is what you will do:

  • During all the stages of a project, contribute to design development regarding Control and SCADA of the Power Supply System.
  • To define the architecture and equipment for the control of the Power SCADA railway line.
  • Preparation of technical reports and specifications for control and SCADA equipment at local and control center levels.
  • Preparation of network designs and control architectures focused on electric traction power systems.
  • Development of architectures in various control protocols (IEC 60870-5-104, IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus, etc.).
  • Development of integration designs for traction substation control centers, including RTUs, PLCs, protection relays, local SCADA and communications networks.
  • Coordination and preparation of interface documents for signalling systems, overhead contact lines and telecommunications.
  • Preparation of test protocols and assistance with FAT and SAT tests.
  • Providing manuals and training on control systems to operators and maintenance personnel
  • Attend design team meetings and defend/justify the design in front of the client or independent reviewers.
  • Be part of the power systems team with responsibility and dependability, with a strategic and critical thinking, considering the needs of the projects and the team necessity with a flexible approach.

Qualifications

Here's what we're looking for:

  • Experience on designing of SCADA system for MV power supply distribution lines, TPS substations or OCS disconnectors.
  • Knowledge of the following standards: IEC 60870-5-101, IEC 60870-5-104 and IEC 61850.
  • Experience on railway electrification (DC and AC), specifically design, construction, test & commissioning, and maintenance of electrical substations.
  • At least 10 years of global experience in the electrical or railway sector.
  • At least 4 years of experience in the duties detailed in the job description.
  • Strong competency in written English and oral communication is required.

Qualifications:

  • MSc Electrical Engineering background
