Job Description

AECOM is seeking a visionary and experienced Solution Architect to lead the design and integration of enterprise GIS and IT systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining system architecture, ensuring scalability and security, and aligning technical solutions with business objectives. This role may require working on-site at client offices.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end architecture design of GIS and IT systems in hybrid-cloud environments.
  • Define integration strategies, data flows, and security protocols across platforms.
  • Translate complex business requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions.
  • Provide architectural oversight across all phases of the project lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Evaluate and recommend technologies, frameworks, and platforms to meet evolving project needs.
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards, data governance, and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, analysts, developers, and infrastructure teams to ensure cohesive delivery.
  • Conduct architecture reviews, risk assessments, and performance tuning.
  • Mentor technical teams and provide guidance on best practices and design patterns.
  • Act as a key technical advisor to both internal stakeholders and external clients.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in solution architecture for enterprise IT or GIS systems.
  • Proven experience in designing scalable, secure, and interoperable system architectures.
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms, GIS technologies, and enterprise data models.
  • Experience with system integration, API design, and service-oriented architecture.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Esri ArcGIS Enterprise, Oracle/PostgreSQL, and spatial data systems.
  • Familiarity with QGIS and open-source GIS tools.
  • Knowledge of microservices, containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with identity management, access control, and cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Fluent in English and Cantonese

Job Description
