Job Description

The Domestic Transportation business line in Spain is seeking a Structural Engineer to support the growth of our Structural Engineering discipline. Our team delivers structural assessments and designs from concept to detailed development across a diverse portfolio, including railway stations, public buildings, refurbishments, and high-rise structures. We have a strong track record of successfully delivering structural design solutions in multiple countries.

As a proactive and technically proficient Structural Engineer , you will play a key role in delivering innovative and high-quality structural solutions for our clients. We are looking for someone with solid experience in structural design and calculations, and a strong understanding of both local and international building codes and regulations. Your expertise will contribute to the successful execution of complex projects across various sectors.

This position is based in Madrid and offers a flexible hybrid work model, with 2–3 days per week at the office.

The responsibilities of the role are primarily:

• Perform structural calculations and design for various building types, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and project requirements.
• Develop technical documentation , including calculation reports, design narratives, and required documentation for tenders and permits. Ensure effective communication of project results to stakeholders.
• Create and manage Finite Element Analysis (FEA) models, integrated within BIM platforms to support collaborative design workflows.
• Participate in client meetings, providing technical input and ensuring alignment between structural solutions and client expectations.
• Ensure effective interdisciplinary coordination, working closely with architecture, MEP and other disciplines to deliver integrated design solutions.
• Support project planning and technical management, contributing to timelines, deliverables, and resolution of design challenges.

Qualifications

Here’s what we’re looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
• Master’s degree in Structural Engineering or a related area will be a plus.
• Fluency in English and Spanish languages will be essential, both verbal and written.
• At least 6 years’ experience in Structural Design/Calculations and Building Engineering.
• Knowledge in Codes/Standards such as: Spanish National Codes, AASHTO/ACI/ASTM, Eurocodes.
• Experience in structural software packages such as MIDAS-Civil, ETABS or similar will be essential. Familiarity with BIM platforms will be a plus.
