Join Datadog's AI Research (DAIR) team as an AI Research Engineer in Paris, France, and drive the future of cloud observability and security. Build the data pipelines, tooling, and infrastructure powering Observability Foundation Models, SRE Autonomous Agents, and Production Code Repair Agents.

Leveraging Datadog's proven AI innovations like Bits AI, Watchdog, and Toto, you'll tackle high-impact challenges in anomaly detection, incident resolution, and security vulnerability repair. This role demands strong engineering skills in observability, SRE, and distributed ML systems.

Key Responsibilities at Datadog

• Build and operate datasets, training/evaluation pipelines, benchmarks, and internal tooling for rapid AI iteration
• Implement state-of-the-art models and run experiments at massive scale while profiling for reliability, performance, and cost efficiency
• Orchestrate distributed training and reinforcement learning (RL) with Ray, handling scheduling, auto-scaling, and failure recovery
• Make research stacks fully observable, reproducible, and developer-friendly
• Establish rigorous automated benchmarks and regression tests for forecasting, anomaly detection, multi-modal telemetry analysis, agents, and code repair
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Research Scientists, Product Managers, and Engineering to integrate AI into Datadog's platform
• Harden research prototypes into reliable production services powering cloud monitoring
• Contribute production-grade code, comprehensive documentation, and open-source artifacts

Qualifications & Requirements

• Expert software engineering with hands-on experience in observability, SRE, security, or cloud infrastructure
• Proven track record building ML datasets, training pipelines, and evaluation frameworks
• Deep experience with distributed systems, Ray framework, and large-scale ML training
• Strong skills in Python, ML frameworks (PyTorch/TensorFlow), and production optimization
• Experience with cloud observability data (logs, metrics, traces) and anomaly detection
• Bonus: Background in AI agents, reinforcement learning, or code generation/repair systems
