We are looking for a Staff Security Program Manager to drive company-wide Information Security programs, and partner with the Information Security team, cross-functional engineering and business organizations to plan, organize and work with teams to execute and deliver the strategic security outcomes that secure Airbnb. The Difference You Will Make: In this role, you will partner with our Identity Engineering, BizTech, and Cloud Infrastructure teams to establish a unified risk-based identity and access foundation that secures both human and non-human interactions across Airbnb’s ecosystem.  Our goal is to provide seamless, phishing-resistant authentication for employees using modern standards while protecting non-human identities such as service accounts and automated processes. We achieve this by implementing security measures supported by a robust suite of access control tools, adhering to Zero Trust principles, proactively addressing security challenges, and protecting Airbnb's resources and reputation. Airbnb is built on trust. The Information Security team plays a critical role in maintaining and building our community’s trust in our platform that enables millions of users to explore the world and belong anywhere. As a critical horizontal function within Airbnb, Information Security spans the scope of the company and organizations that make it up to secure Airbnb. We are looking for an experienced leader with a track record of building technical program management functions across multiple regions to support the mission and objectives that protect Airbnb.

A Typical Day

  • Initiate programs by leading alignment on program scope, planning, aligning teams on vision and business goals, building program structure, and securing cross-functional support.
  • Conduct “Steering Committee” meetings to make decisions, remove obstacles, and address program issues. Be the driving force behind business goals and program vision.
  • Drive teams with software engineering/data experiences with practical security knowledge, and proven analytical skills.
  • Be a trust partner for senior leadership and functional leaders to drive focus on business objectives to ensure program success.
  • Conduct workgroup alignment meetings to address strategic/tactical issues, dependencies, metrics review, milestones, and more.
  • Provide ongoing visibility to program status (key decisions, dependencies, issues, risks, metrics, etc.) through push status reporting (to all stakeholders, team members, and interested parties).
  • Manage dependencies across multiple teams, functions, divisions, and stakeholders.
  • Anticipate and aggressively remove obstacles that slow down or prevent program teams from delivering on program goals.
  • Foster a collaborative environment for creativity, innovation, and learning.
  • Be a thought leader who can drive strategic outcomes and lead others through transformative changes as a change agent.

Your Expertise

  • 9+ years of industry experience, with at least 6 years as a TPM or relevant experience. BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields or equivalent practical experience.
  • Seasoned Technical Program Management professional with experience in managing company-wide security technology programs, who is used to working through trade-offs, balancing competing priorities, and adapting to changes.
  • A critical thinker who can develop bespoke program plans that are custom to the specific program needs.
  • A strategic problem solver who possesses a deep understanding of technology and its application to business challenges, and converts strategic goals into actionable plans to deliver the business objectives. Comfortable bending between the tactical and strategic.
  • A Master Collaborator who excels at building positive relationships across teams and functions, encouraging a collaborative environment where different perspectives are valued to create shared alignments.
  • An experienced influencer and change agent who can effectively drives changes and alignment amongst a wide stakeholder base, including: senior leaders, peers, technical, and non-technical stakeholders across roles across the company.
  • Strong experience using data to make informed decisions, measure progress, and find opportunities for continuous improvement.
