 To conform to U.S. export control regulations, applicant should be eligible for any required authorizations from the U.S. Government.

A position for Systems engineer has arisen within Airbus in Getafe (Madrid). The successful applicant will join 1PYE1 department, within Airbus Powerplant organisation.

The Secondary Power Unit (SPU) -formerly known as the Auxiliary Power Unit (APU)- provides non-propulsive energy to the aircraft. It can provide electrical power and pneumatic power.

 

1PYE1 is the team responsible for the integration of the control/electrical related areas of the SPU. The team covers the whole life cycle activities (including in-service) and associated Research and Development activities. 

Within the role it is needed to understand in detail the operation of all ATA49 products for all programs and its failure modes. The following activities will be within your responsibilities:

  

Your Main Responsibilities

As system developer:

  • Define the Secondary Power equipment/system interfaces with other Airbus systems

  • Define electrical diagrams allowing the Secondary Power equipment/system to interact with the aircraft

  • Establish key requirements for the systems elements and ultimately produce equipment specifications. 

  • Interact with external suppliers for cascading of integration requirements and interfaces definition. 

  • Develop modifications and monitor and perform the relevant reviews till its qualification and certification. 

  • Perform simulations, tests definitions, execute tests and analyse test results and problem reports

  • Propose and develop data analytics solutions to support system health monitoring

  • Continuously support Airbus Secondary Power equipment/system fleet including analysis of occurrences, technical queries, service bulletins approvals, …

This role might involve some travels for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly

Who We Are Looking For

Required Educational Background and Experience:

  • Aeronautical/Electrical/Telecommunications engineer or a related discipline.

  • Strong Autonomy. Creativity. Pro-activity.

  • Strong communication skills and networking capabilities, willing to be part of a multicultural and international environment.

  • Abilities to manage suppliers and subcontractors.

  • Technical knowledge on one or more of these areas: MBSE, electromechanical components, control, wiring.

  • Project Management capabilities.

  • Experience on equipment, systems or powerplant functional integration is a plus

  • Prior background on Airbus continuing/continued airworthiness related activities is a plus

  • Experience on equipment specification.

  • Modelling, programming or digitalization experience is a plus.

  • Experience on R&T context is a plus.

  • Languages: Negotiation level of English. French would be a plus.
