Job Description:

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Tester for the Electrical Platform of the Future (m/f) to join our Electrical Systems and Electromagnetic Compatibility Tests Team based in Toulouse, France.

On a daily basis, Airbus strives to improve its products and services in terms of operations, maintenance, performance, and sustainability. To achieve these goals, future programs will integrate new equipment and technologies that will need to be validated and tested using new working methods. The Electrical Systems and Electromagnetic Compatibility Tests Team is heavily involved in supporting this drive and preparing for the future through new testing approaches and the development of tomorrow’s test capabilities.

The team works on two types of activities :

- The in-service aircraft fleet (through certification tests, predictive maintenance, airline support, etc.)

- Future aircraft (trends towards electrification, fuel cells, etc.)

The selected candidate will join this dynamic team of more than 20 members.

Your challenges :

• Be focused on aircraft electrification and decarbonization (through activities related to new hybrid electrical architectures, the hybridization roadmap, etc.) and support the future flight program.

• Aim to verify and validate future electrical technologies/architectures as well as the associated control laws (remote hardware testing, connection, and integration of emulated model libraries).

• Require project and interface management to ensure effective communication with all stakeholders (program, R&D, test team, test facilities organization, suppliers, etc.).

• Maintain a good balance between theory and practice, involving a significant volume of testing to develop skills and share them within the team.

Your boarding pass :

Candidates must demonstrate skills in electrical engineering/power electronics (Master of Science degree and relevant experience preferred).

• Knowledge of emulation (modeling of electrotechnical systems, ideally with Simulink, FPGA programming, and industrial automation systems programming, ideally with dSPACE/ControlDesk) would be an advantage.

• Experience with remote testing is also a plus.

• Strong communication skills and basic project management abilities are required.

• The candidate must be fully fluent in English.

Business travel is expected approximately twice a year in Europe or globally, so candidates must be willing to travel accordingly.

This position requires a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.
