Alcoa is seeking a motivated and skilled Operadora de Refinaria A to join our team in Poços de Caldas, Minas Gerais, Brazil. This is an affirmative action position specifically for women. As an Operadora de Refinaria A, you will be responsible for operating valves, using hoses for washing areas, cleaning channels and floors, and using manual tools, among other activities. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
On a typical day, you might start by reviewing the work orders and safety protocols for the day. You would then proceed to operate valves to control the flow of materials in the refinery, ensuring that the processes are running smoothly and efficiently. You would also use hoses to wash down areas and equipment, maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Cleaning channels, floors, and other surfaces is also a crucial part of your daily routine. You will use various manual tools to perform tasks such as tightening bolts, removing debris, and making adjustments to equipment.
Other responsibilities may include performing pump switching operations, operating and washing Kelly filters, and operating a front-end loader (if you have the appropriate license). You will also be responsible for reversing racquets, performing turbidity tests, and collecting samples for laboratory analysis. You will work in the washer and digestion areas, as well as the grinding area, under the guidance of senior operators. Cleaning and changing filters in sieves and following housekeeping routes will also be part of your responsibilities.
