Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or contractors at a government corrections location.
  • Carry out security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
  • Execute emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Perform armed patrol duties in assigned areas, including interior and exterior routes.
  • Deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and controlled areas.
  • Verify identification and/or authorization as required.
  • Document entries, exits, and unusual activity per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Apply de-escalation techniques when appropriate.
  • Coordinate with site personnel and/or law enforcement.
  • Complete required reports, logs, and shift documentation.
  • Communicate significant events, hazards, and/or maintenance concerns through the chain of command.
  • Maintain visibility to deter security-related incidents.
  • Adhere to Allied Universal driver policy requirements while driving.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Operate and maintain security equipment.
  • Conduct regular security checks and inspections.
  • Enforce rules and regulations of the assigned site.
  • Provide assistance to individuals in need.
  • Participate in training and professional development activities.
