Role Overview

Allied Universal, North America's leading security and facility services company, is seeking a dedicated and professional Security Officer to join our team in Chicago, Illinois. As a Security Officer in a healthcare setting, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of patients, visitors, and staff. A Day in the Life of a Healthcare Security Officer

Your day will consist of a variety of tasks aimed at maintaining a safe and secure environment. You'll conduct regular foot patrols throughout the healthcare facility, monitoring access points, responding to incidents, and providing assistance to those in need. You will start your shift by receiving detailed briefings from the off going staff to ensure the security of the healthcare workers as well as any sensitive situations that may require immediate attention. Your goal is to deter crime and ensure everyone on site is secure.

This includes:

  • Conducting regular and random foot patrols throughout healthcare facilities, including lobbies, corridors, waiting areas, parking areas, and building perimeters to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards or policy concerns.
  • Monitoring access points, verify credentials when required, and assist with visitor directions and wayfinding while maintaining professional conduct and privacy awareness.
  • Responding to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, medical support requests, and fire or alarm activations, and coordinate with on-site personnel and public responders as needed.
  • Documenting patrol activity, incidents, and unusual observations in detailed reports, and communicate updates to site leadership and Allied Universal management per post orders.
