What qualifications are required for the Union Fiber Splicer position?
A high school diploma or GED equivalent, 3+ years of splicing experience, and a valid driver’s license are required. Technical training or experience is a plus.
What types of fiber optic enclosures will I be working with?
You will be working with various types of fiber optic splice enclosures, including Raychem, Coyote, and 3M enclosures.
What testing equipment will I be using?
You will be using a Power Meter and optical time domain reflectometer (OTDR) to test Fiber Optic Cable.
Is aerial experience required?
Yes, aerial experience of dressing, lashing, and “snow shoeing” Fiber Optic Cable is required.
