This role will focus on telling the story of what makes AWS physical infrastructure and technology hardware distinctive, and support new infrastructure launches.The ideal candidate enjoys diving deep into technology, understanding how it is shaping and redefining the world we live in and engaging top tier business, and technology media. They are motivated by a dynamic, highly creative culture where the challenge of breaking new ground and redefining best practices is welcome. In this role, the candidate will have the ability to work alongside a variety of internal teams and also support AWS customers. The candidate must have excellent writing skills, have experience driving proactive campaigns and have a track record of utilizing good judgement in high pressure situations. The candidate must be comfortable working sensitive issues and communicating about issues that can impact AWS’s reputation.Key job responsibilities- Define, develop, and oversee end-to-end execution of a business-critical communications programs- Manage reputational issues with internal stakeholders and members of the media- Protect sensitive competitive, technical, and business confidential information- Develop and strengthen relationships with technology and business journalists, as well as stakeholders in the communities where we operate- Regularly interact with senior leadership to influence strategy in relation to operations, service offerings, announcements, and messaging- Work cross-functionally to plan and execute PR campaigns- Manage complex, fast-moving, and unexpected communications challenges with high judgment and professionalism

  • Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $149,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $246,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
