Job Description

Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. We are seeking an experienced FPGA Embedded Software Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will develop, implement, and validate embedded software solutions for FPGA-based systems.Export Control RequirementDue to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.Key job responsibilities* Design and develop embedded software for FPGA platforms* Create and maintain firmware for various FPGA applications* Develop and implement hardware/software interfaces* Debug complex system issues using logic analyzers and oscilloscopes* Write and maintain technical documentation* Collaborate with hardware engineers on system architecture* Perform code reviews and implement best practices* Support system integration and validation testing**Technical Skills:*** Programming Languages: C, C++, Python, TCL* Hardware Description Languages: VHDL, Verilog* FPGA Tools: Xilinx Vivado, Intel Quartus* Debug Tools: Logic Analyzers, Oscilloscopes* Version Control: Git* Documentation: Doxygen, Technical Writing

  • * Knowledge of Python or TCL scripting (experience)

  • Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
