Job Description

Amazon is seeking a dedicated, multitasking, and customer obsessed individual to support 2-3 Directors across the Database Services team within the Utility Computing org at AWS. This role requires superior attention to detail, the ability to meet tight deadlines, great organizational skills, and the ability to juggle multiple critical requests. A high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information, and professionalism in dealing with senior professionals inside and outside the company is important, as is a good sense of humor. The candidate will possess the ability to complete complex tasks and projects quickly with little to no guidance, react with appropriate urgency to situations that require a quick turnaround, and take effective action without having to know the total picture.Key job responsibilities• Proactively coordinate and engage with leadership in planning and organizing events, activities and calendars• Management of multiple complex calendars and scheduling requirements• Acting as a liaison for direct reports• Driving key team activities (such as staff meeting agendas, all-hands meetings, supply ordering)• Tracking and helping drive completion of key deliverables and following up on not completed items• Travel coordination for executives• Participating in planning of events• Having fun at work and helping others do the same• This position will work with other assistants throughout the Database Services and across the rest of the companyA day in the lifeWorking in a highly ambiguous environment, you will demonstrate initiative, complete tasks and projects quickly, and proactively take action without having to know the total picture. You will learn organizational structures and objectives of the teams you support, as well as build a strong internal network. You will apply a superior attention to detail, great organizational skills, and the ability to meet tight deadlines and juggle multiple critical requests while maintaining flexibility, a sense of humor, and most importantly, grace under pressure. Over time, you will build deep and trusting professional relationships with the leaders and their teams, which will blossom into strong partnerships that provide opportunity for special projects with increased responsibility and long-term career growth.About the teamThe AWS Database Services (DBS) portfolio includes 9 services across the relational and nonrelational businesses. The relational database business includes Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS) and Database Migration Service (DMS), while the nonrelational business includes DynamoDB (DDB), ElastiCache, DocumentDB, Neptune, Keyspaces, MemoryDB, and Timestream.We believe that DBS makes AWS more compelling by offering the most complete, comprehensive, and integrated set of relational and nonrelational database services. Thinking about specific business challenges, growth is a top order concern as is how we position the nonrelational database portfolio with customers.

  • Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
