Job Description

Project Kuiper is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world, and we’ve designed the system with the capacity, flexibility, and performance to serve a wide range of customers, from individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.Key job responsibilities* Provide subject matter expertise on end-to-end export compliance requirements from proof of concept through prototype development, manufacturing set-up, testing, mass production, and post-import audit for new technologies.* Perform export product classification, make export license determinations, prepare export licensing applications, and facilitate export contorl audits.* Perform research and analysis on trade risks and opportunities, summarize findings, and prepare recommendations for global stakeholders.* Collaborate with Amazon's regional trade teams to execute new product and country expansions* Effectively lead cross-functional projects, with a focus on efficiency and scalability* Define and report on key performance and trade compliance metrics* Provide effective trade compliance training and public policy updates to stakeholdersA day in the lifeYou will provide the business with critical SME knowledge and analysis on many topics, including export classification, licensing requirements, shipments, and any other international activities that may include an export of hardware, software, or technology/tech data. You will prepare and deliver training, create and implement scalable business processes, and help build a world class global trade & compliance program. In executing this role, you will work directly with Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, Tax, Transfer Pricing, Finance. Procurement, Quality, and Legal teams, as well as various external company partners. Preferred Qualifications

  • • Aerospace or technology manufacturing industry experience. (experience)
  • • Experience working in a logistics and global trade compliance environment with multinational corporations. (experience)
  • • Advanced compliance training, Masters or Law degree is a plus, but is not required (degree in law degree is a plus)
  • • Prior trade experience with electronics, communications, and space product manufacturing or in a related industry (experience)
  • • Experience identifying, creating and driving strategic trade initiatives (experience)
  • • Experience working with global trade ERP systems (experience)
  • Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $91,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $196,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
