You will utilize innovative solutions and technology to solve difficult manufacturing and engineering problems on a daily basis, at both a systems and specialized level. You will be a critical lynchpin between the production, development, tooling, supply chain and quality teams, and lead production on the assembly line as well as new production introduction. You will provide vital manufacturability input to the design engineering teams for both new and existing hardware. Finally, you will be responsible for standing up new processes, equipment, and assembly lines to support Kuiper’s build ramp, making data-driven decisions at each step in the process.Key job responsibilities- Use knowledge and experience in understanding, collaborating, and trading complex inputs from multiple other disciplines (Electrical, RF, Optics, Thermal, Dynamics, Mechanisms, Materials, Tooling, Assembly, and Test) to guide the team and arrive at a viable approach for an optical system.- Drive manufacturing processes improvements by reading test results and implementing SPC.- Interface with facilities personnel in site development and all utility requirements definition.- AIT takt time & cost optimization planning- Manage team of manufacturing engineers across multiple shifts, expectation is that this role will be flexible in attendance and able to support on reoccurring basis on a shift from 4 pm to midnight, including weekend days.Export Control Requirement:Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.A day in the lifeThis role will require a thorough understanding of precision manufacturing processes. The base pay for this position ranges from $135,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $234,900/year in our highest geographic market.
