To be successful you need to be highly motivated and detail oriented while showing the highest standards of execution.Key job responsibilities• Primarily second-shift, but shift schedule may vary depending on production/processing/launch schedules• Successfully process Kuiper satellites through Propellant Loading preps, fill, and securing according to technical work instructions• Independently execute and prioritize work to meet production schedules• Rigging and critical lifts of bulky, sensitive flight hardware• Able to obtain and maintain licenses, operator permits, and/or certifications as required• Use precision calibrated tools – torque wrenches, multimeters, optical inspection devices, micrometers, and calipers• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation• Perform work according to procedures, specifications, and test instructions• Check and inspect your work after completion to ensure engineering and quality standards are met per the drawing and work instruction requirements• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to develop and document activities, including continuous improvement opportunities• Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient, safe, and effective work environment• Must be willing and able to perform extended travel, either domestically or internationally as business needs demand.A day in the lifeUpon arrival to the PPF, the second-shift Prop Load Technician will meet with the SAT Zone engineer(s) and technician lead(s) for debrief on first shift's progress and challenges, take-over in-process activities (satellite propellant-loading and securing), and set-up satellites for first-shift the following day.The technician will be assigned tasks based on their skills, optimal process flow/timing, and processing/launch manifest needs. As a Level 3 (senior) technician, you will be expected to be able to independently perform work and train others on the Prop Load Team's tasks.Valuable skills and experience for this role include a variety of aerospace operational disciplines, including mechanical assembly, propellant loading (or similar spacecraft pneumatic/propulsion operations), pneumatic and electrical control system troubleshooting/rework, and rigging/crane/forklift operationsIn short, you will be responsible for some of the most critical tasks to process and integrate each Kuiper satellite for launch, ensuring high quality, workmanship, and safety standards are adhered to on a daily basis.About the teamThe Propellant Loading Team is part of the Satellite Processing Zone at Project Kuiper's Payload Processing Facilities. The SAT Zone is responsible for receiving each satellite from the factory in WA, testing, processing, and readying them for dispenser integration, stacking, and launch.The Prop Load team's mission is to safely, consistently, and efficiently load Krypton propellant on all 3,236 satellites that will be launched to populate the Project Kuiper constellation.The team is based at the Comet PPF in Kennedy Space Center, and travels to support propulsion operations at other PPFs as the launch manifest requires.

  • • Ability and willingness to rapidly adapt role and responsibilities to facilitate fast-paced, high-quality satellite processing (experience)
  • Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $70,720/year in our lowest geographic market up to $76,960/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
