We are seeking an experienced Regulatory Compliance Engineer to lead compliance strategy and execution for our Just Walk Out technology products. This role requires a technical expert who can independently manage complex, multi-regional regulatory requirements while working cross-functionally with hardware engineering, manufacturing partners, and global deployment teams.Key job responsibilitiesLead end-to-end regulatory compliance strategy for Just Walk Out hardware systems, including sensors, cameras, edge computing devices, and associated infrastructureEnsure products meet EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility), Safety, and Environmental compliance requirements across multiple regionsDevelop and maintain compliance roadmaps aligned with product development timelines and international expansion plansIdentify and mitigate regulatory risks early in the product development lifecycleCoordinate testing schedules, certification timelines, and documentation deliverables with external regulatory partnersDrive closure of regulatory blockers and communicate status to senior leadershipExperience in regulatory requirements for EU and Asia Stay current on evolving international regulations and assess impact on existing and future productsServe as primary regulatory liaison with Contract Manufacturers (CMs) and Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs)Review and approve compliance documentation, test reports, and certificates of conformityDefine test plans and coordinate EMC, safety, and environmental testing with accredited laboratoriesTroubleshoot compliance failures and work with engineering teams to implement corrective actionsDesign and approve regulatory labels meeting multi-regional requirementsCreate and maintain technical files, declarations of conformity, and certification packagesProvide regulatory guidance during product design reviews and architecture decisionsA day in the lifeYou will be working with highly cross functional teams.   • - Track record of managing 5+ concurrent compliance projects successfully (experience)
  • - 3+ years working directly with Contract Manufacturers and ODMs on regulatory matters (experience, 3 years)
  • - Extensive experience securing certifications in EU and Asian regions (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • - Master's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent (degree in electrical engineering or equivalent)

  • Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $105,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
