Amazon's Dangerous Goods (DG) team is looking for a Risk Manager to plan and execute Dangerous Goods compliance projects and maintain operational performance in Mexico.The DG Risk Manager will ensure DG products meet applicable local and global regulatory requirements, collaborate with internal stakeholders to support business expansion, implement and improve standard operational processes, and provide support to stakeholders during the implementation phase. The ideal candidate will maintain existing processes while identifying opportunities for improvement through benchmark and best practices, working with various stakeholders and functions.The candidate needs to thrive in an ambiguous environment, while managing projects and diving deep into operations. It also requires an aptitude to adapt to scope changes, to propose solutions, to be able to drive processes across Amazon’s expanding network and link them to local/regional and global initiatives.Key job responsibilities• Lead and execute Dangerous Goods compliance projects while maintaining operational performance• Develop and implement solutions to improve Dangerous Goods transportation systems• Analyze regulatory risks in products and services, providing recommendations for risk mitigation• Interpret and apply regulations related to Dangerous Goods transportation across ground, air, and sea modes• Manage end-to-end Dangerous Goods compliance projects and provide guidance for business initiatives• Partner with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and controls• Identify opportunities to leverage technology to build and improve upon best-in-class systems for Dangerous Goods transportation• Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidanceA day in the lifeThis role works closely with internal partner teams, including Amazon Fulfillment Technology, Transportation, Catalog, Classification, Legal, Retail, FBA (Fulfilled by Amazon), External Fulfillment, and Operations teams. The Risk Manager will demonstrate strong judgment in decision-making and continuously expand their knowledge of Amazon's businesses and fulfillment models. They will work with leadership across multiple organizations to implement processes and controls while delivering high-quality work on time.

- Excel Advanced (experience)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish. (experience)

- Experience in a highly regulated industry such as petrochemical, automotive, pharmaceutical, etc. (experience)
- Familiarity interpreting and applying Mexican regulatory requirements for Dangerous Goods (experience)
- Master's degree in relevant field (degree in relevant field)
- Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent experience (experience)
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex regulatory documentation. (experience)
- Basic knowledge of data warehouse and SQL (experience)
- Experience in e-commerce or fast-paced technology-driven businesses (experience)
