The Amazon Books Store Experience team is looking for a talented Economist to help invent, design, and measure innovative science solutions to make it easier for millions of customers to find the next book they will love. Key job responsibilitiesIn this role you will:- Partner with cross-functional teams to leverage advanced economic and causal modeling techniques, to drive business insights and decision-making.- Conduct in-depth research and analysis on large, complex data sets to understand customer behavior, pricing dynamics, and the incremental impact of business programs and initiatives.- Design, implement, and maintain scalable econometric and machine learning solutions to automate and improve key measurement and optimization capabilities.- Effectively communicate analysis, insights, and recommendations to influence senior leadership, business strategy and roadmap prioritization.About the teamThe Books Store Experience team is a core team developing the frameworks and technologies used by dozens of partner teams to develop the best shopping experience for our books customers. The books organization is the oldest organization at Amazon serving customers from the very beginning. This team has a wealth of experience in Amazon and is constantly evolving the technologies we use in order to best serve our customers.

Required Qualifications

  • Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $143,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $247,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
