Job Description

Amazon Air (AIR) is looking for an experienced Planner or Supply Chain Manager to lead the Network Design team and chart the course for AIR over the coming years. Network Design sets the medium- and long-term strategy for Amazon Air to keep raising the bar and adapt to evolving customer needs in collaboration with the other Amazon transportation teams. This includes the transition to a 1D delivery network, the integration of external Air Cargo into the network, the evolution of AIR's network topology and fleet strategy, as well as business cases for how AIR can leverage new aviation technologies to deliver smiles sustainably and at low cost. Key job responsibilities- Manage a team of high caliber Supply Chain Managers- Lead the ideation and definition of long-term strategy to meet Amazon's air transportation needs- Create and deliver long-term and medium-term planning documents for Amazon Air- Advise VP level leadership on strategic decisions - Collaborate with senior leaders across the organization and influence medium/long-term decisions across business units to yield the best outcomes for customers- Lead ad hoc strategic projects including but not limited to evaluations of strategic partnership opportunities and business cases for new technologiesAbout the teamNetwork Design is one of the primary pillars of the AIR Network Planning and Revenue Management (NPRM) organization. NPRM owns the definition, creation and revision of operational plans from long-term (3+ years) up until a few days ahead of the day a flight is scheduled to take off, as well as the processes and tools to allocate scarce aircraft capacity to the highest value shipments. The organization is responsible for setting the course for AIR to keep raising the bar for customers by ensuring the best possible mix of fast speeds, low costs, as well as superior quality and reliability.

  • Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $141,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $233,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
