Project Kuiper is Amazon's initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Our mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world.We are seeking a talented Software Development Engineer to join Amazon's Project Kuiper team, working on our ambitious satellite internet constellation that will provide fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. This role requires a strong foundation in production software development, database architecture, and machine learning technologies.Key job responsibilities* Design, develop, and maintain large-scale distributed systems for satellite communication infrastructure* Build and optimize high-performance databases to handle massive volumes of telemetry and operational data* Implement machine learning models and LLM-based solutions for network optimization and predictive maintenance* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware engineers, network architects, and data scientists* Ensure system reliability, scalability, and performance in a mission-critical environmentExport Control Requirement:Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

- Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
