Job Description

Join Amazon DeviceOS team, pioneering the development of Fire tablets, Kindle e-readers, Fire TV, Echo, and other consumer electronic devices. We’re seeking a System Development Engineer to spearhead our Software Configuration Management (SCM) infrastructure. Your role will be instrumental in architecting and implementing robust infrastructure solutions that power our next-generation devices.You will be solving challenging problems and developing scalable, high-performing solutions that require minimal long term sustaining and development support. You will partner with Systems Engineers, Network Engineers and Software Engineers to develop simple and efficient technology that supports our test and development platforms.. We value ingenuity, simplicity, and scalability in our designs. In your day-to-day work you will focus on automation of complex tasks to allow our business to scale with customer demand. Key job responsibilities- Design and maintain mission-critical SCM infrastructure across Android, Linux, and RTOS platforms- Spearhead complex troubleshooting and root cause analysis for DeviceOS SCM systems- Architect scalable build systems emphasizing reliability and performance optimization- Lead continuous improvement initiatives in build and release engineering- Develop innovative solutions for cross-compilation and toolchain management- Maintain and enhance automated build systems and CI/CD pipelines- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams while working independently

  • - Deep knowledge of build frameworks (Android, Yocto) (experience)
  • - Expertise in integrating automated software testing with build processes (experience)
  • - Proven track record of simplifying complex systems (experience)
  • - Outstanding problem-solving abilities (experience)
  • Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $116,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $201,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
