We work in a fast-paced environment where innovation and automation are key to scaling our operations and supporting Kuiper’s mission to connect the unconnected.We are seeking an experienced macOS Client Fleet Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth expertise in Apple ecosystem device management, including JAMF Pro, Apple Business Manager, and macOS administration at scale. In this role, you will architect, implement, and maintain the systems and tools necessary to manage our global macOS fleet, with a focus on automation, security, and user experience.Key job responsibilities- Apple Device Management: Design and maintain MDM configurations, implementing zero-touch deployment workflows and managing the device lifecycle from provisioning to retirement.- Client Fleet Management: Implement scalable solutions for managing endpoints, including configuration management, patching, imaging, and reporting.- Automation: Create and maintain scripts and tools to automate device management tasks and improve operational efficiency.- Security Compliance: Collaborate with security teams to ensure device configurations comply with internal policies and industry standards (e.g., STIG, NIST).- Operational Excellence: Monitor and improve the health, performance, and reliability of device management systems, proactively identifying and resolving issues.- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Networking, Identity Access Management, and Security, to deliver seamless device experiences.- Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including SOPs, design documents, and operational runbooks.A day in the lifeThe Kuiper Devices & Systems (KDS) team manages a global fleet of devices, ensuring security, compliance, and performance. Daily tasks include monitoring fleet health, addressing incidents, deploying updates, and refining imaging and provisioning workflows. The team manages MDM solutions like FleetDM, enforces compliance policies, and collaborates with stakeholders to address dependencies. They prioritize security, conduct regular audits, and remediate vulnerabilities to meet standards like FIPS and NIST.
