Amazon Web Services (AWS) builds and operates some of the largest internet infrastructure on the planet; providing companies of all sizes with an infrastructure web services platform in the cloud. With AWS, you can provision compute power, storage, database, and other cloud resources as your business demands them.AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations such as Bedrock that continue to set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organisation, you’ll support the development and management of services such as Compute, Storage, Database and Analytics, AI/ML, Platform and builder tooling in AWS, including support for customers who require specialised security solutions for their cloud services.We are looking for an experienced Systems Engineering and Operations Leader to contribute to the growth of our organisation within Amazon Web Services.Key job responsibilitiesYou love to work with internal and external customers to execute projects and resolve issues. You will set the standard for automation and working at scale, dive deep into technical issues, and work diligently to improve the customer experience. You are a believer in the DevOps model of service engineering and you are excited to run operations in an environment where developers don’t toss problems over the wall. You are happiest when you are working with empowered, world-class engineers to meet world-class challenges.   • - Performance engineering and capacity planning background (experience)
  • - Strong engineering fundamentals (networking, operating systems, systems at scale) and experience leading teams responsible for running these services (experience)
  • - Leading development life cycle processes and best practices, especially in the areas of deployment automation and monitoring (experience)
  • - Experience with the deployment and usage of monitoring systems and experience with forecasting and capacity planning systems (experience)
  • - Leading software development organisations in a “DevOps” model and experience with distributed systems at scale (experience)
  • - Strong communication skills, both written and verbal (experience)
