Job Description

As an Associate Software Engineer at Amgen, you will be involved in the development and maintenance of software applications. You will collaborate with a team of engineers to design, code, test, and debug software solutions. Your strong programming skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a collaborative environment will contribute to the delivery of reliable and efficient software applications.

What you will do

  • Design and develop scalable custom solutions on the Salesforce Service Cloud platform using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Visualforce, Aura and work with SOQL.
  • Implement and configure standard and custom Salesforce objects, fields, layouts, Flows, validation rules, and approval processes.
  • Develop Apex classes, triggers (including batch classes, schedulers), and robust exception-handling logic.
  • Write test classes for code coverage, perform unit testing and support UAT.
  • Build and maintain integrations using REST and SOAP APIs with external/internal systems.
  • Utilize DevOps tools such as Copado, Git, and CI/CD pipelines for deployment automation and release management.
  • Participate in code reviews, manage releases and handle deployments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues, perform root-cause analysis, and optimize system performance and code quality.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and other stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and actively contribute to sprint planning, estimation, retrospectives, and demos.
  • Guide and mentor junior developers in standard development practices, code reviews, and platform optimization.
  • Maintain clear documentation of processes, solutions and system architecture.
  • Ensure salesforce best practices are implemented.

What we expect of you

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 4 - 7 years of hands-on Salesforce development experience.
  • Salesforce Platform Developer I certification (Required)
  • Salesforce Platform Developer II certification (Preferred)
  • Salesforce Administrator certification (Nice-to-have)

Must-Have Skills

  • Proficiency in: Lightning Web Components (LWC), Apex (classes, triggers, batch processing), Visualforce & Aura, Salesforce configuration and security models
  • Experience integrating Salesforce with internal and third-party systems using REST/SOAP APIs.
  • Solid understanding of Salesforce platform capabilities, object model, sharing rules, and automation tools.
  • Experience with Git, version control branching strategies, and CI/CD practices in large enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrated expertise with Copado for deployment management and pipeline automation.
  • Familiarity with: Healthcare, pharma, or biotech industry standards, Compliance frameworks (GxP, HIPAA, 21 CFR Part 11), Mulesoft integrations
  • Experience with Veeva, Marketing Cloud, or Health Cloud is a plus
  • Certified Scrum Developer or SAFe Agile certification (optional)
  • Knowledge of validation or CSV tools is an advantage
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
