Role Description:
What you will do
- Overseeing a portfolio of programs to ensure alignment with organization's strategic objectives and delivery of maximum value and outcomes
- Leading and delivering program and project management services through all phases of the Lifecycle (initiation, planning, development, execution, control, and rollout)
- Managing successful delivery, cost management, resource management, and risk management to drive business outcomes
- Leading and coordinating efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan
- Developing and implementing change management strategies and plans to maximize user adoption and minimize resistance
- Fostering an environment where the team can stay focused with limited disruption from outside impacts
- Enabling the team to effectively use Lean and SAFe Agile practices
- Removing roadblocks to progress and facilitating Agile events
- Supporting the Product Owner in managing the backlog and guiding the team
- Managing/running multiple scrums and projects
- Facilitating team events such as Daily Stand-ups, Iteration Planning, reviews, and retrospectives
- Defining project/program scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders
- Identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies
- Ensuring project deliverables meet quality standards, business requirements, and intended outcomes
- Tracking ongoing program performance using appropriate tools and techniques
- Educating the team about Lean and SAFe Agile practices like Scrum
- Strengthening communication and relationships with other teams, especially those on the Agile Release Train (ART)
- Tracking team metrics and finding ways to improve team performance
- Guiding the team towards becoming a high-performing and self-managing unit
- Continuously learning and improving as a Scrum Master, including participation in Amgen Communities of Practice
- Running scrum cadences working with multiple teams across the globe
- Ensuring coordination between teams for timely delivery
What we expect of you
- Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, IT or related field
- 9+ years of relevant work experience
- SAFe Scrum Master certification - Mandatory
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification (preferred)
- Certified Change Management Professional (CCMP) or equivalent (preferred)
Must-Have Skills
- Deep knowledge and expertise in SAFe
- Combine technical knowledge of SAFe with a motivation to improve software, systems, and Agile business processes
- Jira hands on experience including work management and reporting
- Experienced in driving PI planning events with support of Release Train Engineer in ART set up
- Excellent Project Management, People Management and Leadership skills in a software Development environment
- Knowledge of Value Stream Mapping, Lean Thinking, and OKR-based goal setting
- Excellent analytical and gap/fit assessment skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with global, virtual teams
- High degree of initiative and self-motivation
- Ability to manage multiple priorities successfully
