ABOUT AMGEN
What you will do
- Design intuitive, user-friendly interfaces using Figma and modern design libraries, ensuring consistency with Amgen's design system.
- Build, maintain, and optimize Tableau dashboards and other visualization tools to deliver actionable insights.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into user-centric designs and visualization solutions.
- Apply best practices in UX design, data storytelling, and visualization engineering to create impactful user experiences.
- Ensure visualization performance and scalability through efficient data modeling and dashboard optimization.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, product owners, and analysts, to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Conduct user testing and feedback loops to improve design and visualization outcomes.
- Leverage design thinking and agile methodologies to rapidly iterate and deliver high-quality solutions.
What we expect of you
- Master’s degree with a 4 - 6 years of experience in Computer Science, IT or related field OR Bachelor’s degree with 7 - 10 years of experience in Computer Science, IT or related field.
Must-Have Skills
- Proven experience with front-end design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating ability to design clean, modern user interfaces.
- Proficiency with design systems, component libraries, and responsive design principles.
- Hands-on experience building Tableau dashboards (or similar BI tools such as Power BI, Qlik) with a focus on interactivity, usability, and performance.
- Strong understanding of data visualization best practices and data storytelling.
- Experience collaborating with product owners, engineers, and analysts in an agile environment.
- Ability to bridge UX design with visualization engineering to deliver cohesive solutions.
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for front-end development.
- Familiarity with advanced Tableau features (LOD calculations, parameter actions, performance optimization).
- Experience in other visualization frameworks or libraries (e.g., D3.js, Plotly, Highcharts).
- Background in human-centered design, HCI, or data analytics.
- Tableau Certified Data Analyst / Tableau Desktop Certified Professional
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Strong written and verbal communications skills (English) in translating technology content into business-language at various levels
- Ability to work effectively with global, virtual teams
- High degree of initiative and self-motivation
- Ability to manage multiple priorities successfully
- Team-oriented, with a focus on achieving team goals
