What you will do
- Develop software to transform and visualize omics (genomics, proteomics, transcriptomics) data using programming languages such as Python, Java, R
- Develop data processing pipelines for large datasets in the cloud (e.g. Nextflow); integrate with other data sources where applicable
- Collaborate with the other engineering team members to ensure all services are reliable, maintainable, and well-integrated into existing platforms
- Adhere to best practices for testing and designing reusable code
What we expect of you
- Master’s degree and 1 to 3 years of experience in Software Development, IT, or related field
- OR Bachelor’s degree and 3 to 5 years of experience in Software Development, IT, or related field
- OR Diploma and 7 to 9 years of experience in Software Development, IT, or related field
- Preferred: 2+ years of experience in biopharma or life sciences
- Preferred: Work experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry
Must-Have Skills
- Proficiency in code development (e.g. Python, R, Java)
- Knowledge of CI/CD processes
- Knowledge of cloud computing technologies (e.g. AWS, Google Cloud)
- Experience in RESTFul API development e.g. Flask, MuleSoft
- Experience in pipeline development using Python, Nextflow, etc
- Experience with Databricks
- Experience with cloud computing platforms and infrastructure
- Experience with Application development (Django, RShiny, Plotly Dash, etc)
- Experience using and adopting Agile Framework
- Strong learning agility
- High degree of initiative and self-motivation
- Ability to manage multiple priorities successfully
- Team-oriented with a focus on achieving team goals
