The team is seeking an expert Software Engineer to focus on building the next generation of production-facing ML platform. Your work will power marquee Apple experiences such as Apple Intelligence, Search, Siri, and Private Cloud OS, while also helping build new ones. We are a production-infrastructure-facing distributed-systems team designing, building, and growing Apple's Machine Learning platform, enabling many of Apple's signature apps and experiences. Our work impacts over a billion users and is essential to the success of Apple's growth in AIML. Our team is growing, and you will have the unique opportunity to help us shape our culture and processes. As part of this role, you will: • Collaborate to solve complex DevOps, SRE and production-infrastructure problems with the opportunity to invent innovative solutions • Evolve the design and architecture to support the continued growth of our ML platform • Develop the next generation of services that power Apple Intelligence and Private Cloud OS. • Partner with various teams across Apple to develop features and functionality to enable new experiences in the Apple ecosystem

Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience building and running scalable services in public clouds (experience, 15 years)
- Senior level experience with containers and Kubernetes, ML, and cluster operations (experience)
- Traffic, load-balancing, networking and distributed storage experience. (experience)
- Experience collecting high-level requirements and translating them into pragmatic solutions (experience)
- Proven track record with examples of delivering Infrastructure at the largest internet scale (experience)
- Proficient with various programming languages such as Java/Python/Go for automation or integration with multiple APIs (RESTFul, gRPC, etc.) (experience)
- Experience operating and developing infrastructure and services in public cloud environments (AWS, GCP etc.) (experience)
- Thrives in a environment where you have to learn new skills and technologies constantly (experience)
- Active in the Tech community and is not comfortable with the status quo (experience)
- Excellent communications skills, capable of working with cross-functional technical and business teams and varying levels of management in a professional manner (experience)
Preferred Qualifications
- Expert in any or all of: load-balancing, observability, microservice architectures, security & cryptography, performance and reliability, Machine Learning Platforms, or LLM operations (experience)
- Experience in Infrastructure forcasting (experience)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent related experience. Postgraduate degree a plus. (experience)
