As a member of our Wireless Silicon Design group, you will have the unique and rewarding opportunity to develop upcoming and future generations of products to support emerging applications that will delight and encourage millions of Apple’s customers every single day! In this technical role, you will be at the center of our silicon design group responsible for the wireless systems design of our innovative wireless SoC products. You will have the chance to create algorithms and architectures of wireless communication systems, as well as collaborate with extraordinary HW, SW designers and architects to implement, verify, validate and bring up SoC products to production quality, providing them to millions of Apple customers! Core responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: - Bringing up, testing, characterizing and optimizing real silicon in the lab - Analyzing and improving the efficiency of wireless MAC layer protocols, focusing on throughput, latency and overall network performance - Implementing MAC system models and investigating algorithms for performance enhancements, design and validate them to allow performance sign-off and enable system developments. Defining the control procedures of the MAC layer hardware modules to achieve robust and optimal performance, throughput and latency - Collaborating with PHY system team and cross-functional teams to integrate MAC layer algorithms into system architecture - Collaborating with firmware designers to realize these methods with high efficiency software implementation and possibly with using hardware acceleration - Documenting design processes and performance outcomes, providing detailed reports and insights for continuous improvements

Required Qualifications

  • B.Sc / M.Sc in Electrical / Computer Engineering or related fields (experience)
  • 3+ years of relevant experience (experience, 3 years)
  • Working knowledge of wireless systems and hands-on experience with lab testing and characterization (experience)
  • Experience with Python and/or C/C++ for algorithm development, modeling, simulation and test-bench infrastructure (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of BT MAC layer protocol (experience)
  • Working knowledge, involving hands-on experience of BT systems (experience)
  • Experience in crafting signal processing and wireless communications systems (experience)
  • Knowledge in existing wireless communication protocols, such as Bluetooth/BLE (experience)
  • Experience on bring up of real silicon in lab and being able to efficiently use lab equipment (such as spectrum analyzer, signal generator, power meter, etc.) (experience)
  • Experience in modem architecture, microprocessor architecture, hardware and software control (experience)
  • Experience of SoC design and validation to support wireless communication system (experience)
  • Experience on low-power algorithm design for power critical application (experience)
  • Experience with multi-radio coexistence management (experience)
  • Experience and knowledge on High-Level Synthesis (HLS), silicon prototyping, emulation systems and virtual platforms (experience)
  • Experience with network simulator such as OPNET, NS2 or NS3 is a plus (experience)
